Boho Lounge: Old Montreal’s Hidden Cocktail Lounge
436 St Francois Xavier St, Montreal, QC H2Y 2T3
Old Montreal is full of bars that turn into clubs with bottle service. Not really my style.
Enter Boho.
Boho is a laid back lounge hidden behind a take-out counter next door to sister-restaurant, Venice in the heart of Old Montreal.
Open the secret back door and enter a space as quirky and fun as Venice, but with a little more sophistication. The décor is, well, Boho chic – mismatched wall paper, turquoise chairs, exposed brick, and gold accents create a thrifty vibe that still manages to remain elegant. The music adds to the atmosphere, but isn’t overpowering – I was actually able to talk to my friends (instead of yelling at them) – sorry, I’m a bit of a grandmother and always appreciate some good conversation!
Drinks were creative and fun without compromising on alcohol. My drink had rum, fresh pineapple, and coconut as well as a coconut popsicle – making all of my Instagram dreams come true. You’ll notice while scrolling through this post that from the drinks and food to the décor, this has to be one of the most instagrammable spots in the city!
We had eaten already, so we just ordered the guac as a snack. It was fresh and citrus-y and served with homemade tortilla chips. But if you do come hungry, you could order off of the menu from Venice, which includes Poké bowls, salads, and thin crust pizzas!
Though I wasn’t on a date, I mentioned to my friends how great of a date spot Boho would be. So whether with good friends, or on a first date, Boho is a welcome addition to Old Montreal’s bar scene!
