Maven Monthly: October 2018
What’s NEW in Montreal this month?
A trip to LA, my sister’s birthday, Halloween, and getting the keys to my new house – lots of excitement for me in the month of October!!! Here’s what has been going on around the city!
Hopkins Launches Late Night Menu
5626 Av de Monkland, Montreal, Quebec, H4A 1E3
Earlier this month I attended Hopkins for the launch of their late night menu, served from 9pm to closing. I’ll be back for their cherry tomato tagliatelle and crispy confit duck wings.
Laurier Street Celebrates End of Construction…Finally!
Laurier shops, restaurants, and residents…rejoice! The construction is finally over. Laurier Street is celebrating with an event titled “Le OuestFest“. Many boutiques and restaurants will be participating. From the 24th to the 28th of October you can grab $1 oysters from Laurier classics like Lemeac and Chez Levesque or a complimentary cocktail from newcomer Kin Khao 25. Check out the rest of the festivities HERE. In other big Laurier news, I finally made it to Juni and can’t believe it took me so long. Their handrolls are otherworldly.
Joiea Sociale Hosted Italian Dinatoire Sponsored by Peroni
645 Wellington St #120, Montreal, QC H3C 1T3
Peroni sponsored a luxe event at new Italian hot spot Joiea Sociale. Though Joiea Sociale has been opened for a while, I had yet to stop by – so I was excited to see what all of the hype was about. Peroni crafted cocktails with a malted twist and served their beer all night, while Joiea Sociale served Italian eats at stations. My personal favourite was the mozarella bar where fresh mozarella was being made on site and served fresh. I am so looking forward to dining at Joiea Sociale again soon (with Peroni beer in hand!).
Happy October everyone! Lots of exciting news & events coming up in November that I can’t wait to share!
