What’s NEW in Montreal this month?

Anyone else feel like August just flew by?! Mine has been jam packed with restaurant openings, events and lots of work. I’m so excited that the labour day long weekend is finally here and am actually getting pretty excited for some cooler weather {enter leather jackets}! To get you ready for fall, here are some new resto openings and spots to try this month.

Ryu Westmount

4185 Saint-Catherine St, Westmount, QC H3Z 3K2

Ryu opens bright and airy Westmount location serving their famous maki rolls, sashimi, and nigiri and equipped with a matcha bar that will serve healthy breakfast options, matcha lattes and eventually salads and bowls for the lunch crowd. Note: you can reserve for dinner!

Thazard (New Menu)

5329 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal, QC H2T 1S5

Thazard is not new, but they just launched a new menu, which I had the opportunity to try last week! They do Japanese fusion: ramen, salmon and tuna sashimi bowls, gyoza, and bao buns. Great vibe, great cocktails, and a cute sidewalk patio to soak up the last bit of Montreal heat! Tip: go between 4 and 7 for dollar oysters & shrimp tempura and $6 cocktails or wine!

Jiao

399 Notre-Dame St W, Montreal, QC H2Y 1V2

Old Montreal gets a trendy dim sum spot with Asian-inspired cocktails.

Signorvino

6961 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal, QC H2S 3E1

Wine bar turned cozy market-fresh resto Signorvino is exactly what you’ll crave as the weather cools down. Read my full post about it – HERE!

Miss Wong

1780 Avenue Pierre-Péladeau, Laval, QC H7T 2Z1

To all of my Laval readers: get ready for a cool new hangout nearby! Miss Wong will feature a stunning interior and an Asian Fusion menu by the same people who brought us Le Blossom and Le Red Tiger. Opening to the public very soon.

Gatto Matto

1950 Rue Claude-Gagné #302, Laval, QC H7N 0E4

Laval can also keep their eyes peeled for beautiful Gatto Matto opening in September. Think floral wallpaper, black marble tables and pastel coloured banquettes and chairs – sounds like the perfect place to enjoy some Italian eats!
