I try to fit in 2-3 workouts per week, but it does get hard to find the motivation to hit the gym after a long day of work. I try to keep my workouts fun and different, so that they feel less like a chore and I actually start to look forward to them!

I was beyond excited when Isabelle Le, pole dance instructor, at Milan Pole Dance Studio in Old Montreal reached out to me to come try a class. I had heard amazing things about pole and what a great workout it is, but had truthfully always been a little too shy to give it a shot. Finally, I decided to go for it and was so happy I did! Firstly, this workout is TOUGH. Watching the advanced class right before the basic class (which I was attending), had me questioning whether I would be able to do it at all. But with Isabelle’s instruction (and the use of every ounce of core and upper-body strength I have), I was able to pull-off most of the moves. I wasn’t the most graceful, but by the end of the one hour session I already noticed a huge improvement. And WOW was I sore the next day (the best feeling after a good workout!).

The studio, located in Old Montreal, is beautiful. It is equipped with 15 poles, a changing room, and very clean bathrooms – so you could easily come straight from work, change into workout clothes, and hit the pole.

Luckily, everyone in the basic class was pretty much at the same level as me, which made me a lot more comfortable. The music was great (upbeat hits) and everyone was just having fun with it. If you were having any doubts about trying this workout – just go for it – you definitely will not regret it!

Side note: the class is instructed in both English and French!

Promotions: 8 classes for $135 AND 20% off for students
