Brunch at Butterblume
5836 Boul St-Laurent, Montréal, QC H2T 1T3
I knew i would be in for a treat when I pulled up to the cute spot this past Sunday. The garage in back was opened making it feel like we were dining outdoors, while the scent of baked goods made us feel like we were in a little bakery. Butterblume is kind of a jack of all trades – they do breakfast during the week, coffee ALWAYS, baked goods to go, lunch, weekend brunch, and even have a little boutique up front.
The brunch/lunch menus are small and they are pretty well-known for their toast with zucchini crema, ricotta, poached egg, and duck jerky, so we opted for that along with one item from their brunch menu – the sweet toast with ricotta, blueberries, and peaches. We also ordered a side – the cauliflower cake served with a chili syrup.
The zucchini toast lived up to expectations and was truly delicious. I would highly recommend the cauliflower cake which is made with chunks of cauliflower and then baked in the oven. I prefer savoury to sweet, but must say that the sweet toast delivered. I love the combination of ricotta and peaches!
