Bring Your Own Sake? Yes Please!
5658 Av du Parc, Montréal, QC H2V 4H1
BYOW restaurants are already a rare find in Montreal, so I was delighted to come across Yuukai Fusion, a BYOW sushi restaurant on Parc Avenue. We had more of a BYOS night (Bring Your Own Sake) because nothing is better than pairing sushi and sake, am I right?
The décor is fairly simple and the resto is pretty casual, but this is still a good Saturday night destination!
Although it is BYOW, the prices are not exorbitant and the quality of food does not suffer at all. Not to mention, Yuukai offers a changing blackboard menu of sushi rolls and appetizers with a twist, so you could expect something a little different with each visit. I was personally impressed with their nigiris and sashimis. The tuna sashimi and yellow tail tuna nigiri topped with thin slices of jalapeno were like butter. All of the rolls we ordered were delicious, so we went onto round 2. I’m pretty sure by the end of the meal we had sampled the entire sushi menu (#whoops).

For you sushi #haters out there: 1) I just don’t get you, and 2) Yuukai has a full menu of gyozas, terriyaki, noodles, and more, so don’t fret.
I declare Yuukai my current favourite BYOW resto in the city!
