A Night at the…Hotel

I was invited to attend the launch of EAT (Être Avec Toi), a new restaurant at the W Hotel that is introducing Montrealers to a revolutionary cultured dining experience. This soon-to-be hot spot was filled wall-to-wall with media and bloggers dining on tapas and going to town on the incredible raw bar. The food definitely impressed. I had their Caesar salad with smoked cod, tuna and salmon tartares, lobster risotto, and Parmesan soup with truffle oil. All were served in miniature portion sizes that left me wanting more. Of course we also had some desserts: adorable chocolate-dipped macaron-pops and a delicious vanilla bean panna cotta. Even more unique than some of their menu items is the way they are prepared-  table-side: tartares and salads are prepared this way adding a classic touch to an otherwise modern concept.

The unique concept: walls are covered in art that will continuously evolve. One night there may be Montreal-themed street art, and the next more traditional oil-paint on canvas. Watch artists paint and create, while eating food cooked by chefs boasting QUITE the résumés and sipping on the perfect wine pairing. Basically, you are dining in an art gallery- how cool is that?!

I’m thinking that this is an amazing idea for an occasion. If you have an anniversary or bf/gf’s birthday coming up, reserve a table at EAT, grab some drinks at Wunderbar, and stay a night at the hotel! Fab & romantic!

I was very impressed by the launch of EAT and am looking forward to enjoying a meal and cultural experience there in the near future. The restaurant opened to the public as of December 4th for dinner and December 14th for lunch, so be sure to reserve now! Also keep an eye out for brunch in January!
