Working out and keeping healthy habits is important (especially if you like eating out as much as I do). To keep things fresh and exciting, I often try out new workouts to challenge my body and change things up a bit. Lifting heavy weights and cardio classes aren’t for everyone. Luckily, there are great alternatives all over the city. I have already told you about the awesome new Studio X workout and now want to tell you about another way to get fit in Montreal.
Located on Sherbrooke in NDG, Dita Pilates offers a low impact and adaptable workout using pilates reformers. If you have a bad back, or scoliosis (like me), it is a good substitute for lifting weights or running on the treadmill, which will often leave me in more pain than when I started. The reformer is a cool contraption that is used to add resistance to common pilates moves. You really need to give this class a try to understand what it’s all about.
The classes are small allowing for extra attention from the experienced and Stott Pilates certified instructors. It was my first time using a reformer and the instructor was very helpful in explaining everything. Other classes offered at Dita Pilates Studio include a Barre Class as well as TRX. I will be back to try those out as well!
Post-workout your body will thank you. I felt amazing and knew right away that it was an hour well-spent. Pricing varies depending on the number of classes purchased. Check out their website below for more info!
If your body feels like it needs a good stretch, tone, and sweat, you should definitely give Dita Pilates a try for yourself!
