Fairmount’s Fabergé: Still Hip

25 Avenue Fairmount O, Montréal, QC H2T 2L9

I wish it weren’t so, but restaurants tend to lose their ”cool” after a few years on the block. The one’s that don’t, become key to Montreal’s restaurant scene and can be expected to stick around for the long hall. One of these timeless spots, which after 6 years is still always packed for weekend brunches is Fabergé on Fairmount!

On this particular morning, the line wrapped around the block. Impressive. Especially considering it was the day of the time-change – meaning people jumped out of bed one whole hour earlier to brunch at Fabergé (on a Sunday nonetheless). Now that’s dedication.

When you make it inside and get seated, you realize just how hip this place is. The décor has not lost its charm and the room is abuzz with brunchees catching up and sipping on artisinal coffees. Fabergé is the epitome of a neighborhood brunch spot.

Making decisions this early in the morning is NOT easy. We went back and forth between the bacon & blueberry waffles and chicken and waffles (I mean, could you really go wrong?), and finally decided on the bacon & blueberry waffles and huevos rancheros (sweet n’ salty!). We paired this with a blueberry smoothie and LARGE latté in a bowl to ease me into that time change. My favourite: the bacon and blueberry waffles (pictured below).

One of the owners greeted us and was so sweet. I would imagine it is passion like hers that keeps restaurants in business.

They are opened during the week and weekends, so if you haven’t yet, be sure to visit Fairmount’s very own Fabergé for breakfast or brunch!
