Jam sessions, live music, hockey games, burgers, tartare, cocktails, beer, and bottle service- what do all of these have in common? They could be found under the same roof in the Old Port at Jack Saloon.

Caesar and Jack’s Iced Tea

I was invited to try Jack Saloon’s new menu and was even more impressed by everything else they had to offer. We were seated at a large booth and started by ordering some cocktails. Jack’s iced tea for me and a Caesar with bacon for the hockey fanatic sitting across from me. I sat facing the live duo singing a mix of classic and popular music, while my boyfriend watched the Habs kill the Islanders on a large-screen TV. Then the food started coming out. First, chicken wings in a Jack Daniels sauce perched atop huge onion rings accompanied by a couple of oysters Rockefeller- perfect for game night. Next a trio of tartares: beef with cilantro and onion, salmon with strawberry & basil, and Asian-style tuna.

For the main course, we sampled a salmon with a sweet glaze, sliced filet mignon, rib eye, and tuna steak.  The salmon and the rib eye were definitely our favourites.

Though we didn’t order one on this visit, I have heard that Jack makes a mean burger.

We finished the meal on a sweet note with the Habs beating the Islanders to the taste of chocolate Crème Brulée.

The waiters were extremely warm, much like the atmosphere. I got a tour of the club downstairs too and could see why this is a destination of choice for many on Friday and Saturday nights.

Live music Thursday through Saturday, jam sessions on Wednesdays, televisions for game night, great food, a huge and diverse menu, and a nightlife destination. There really is something for everyone at Jack Saloon.

Jack is also a great venue for corporate Christmas Parties and they are currently accepting reservations! You can also check out their locations in Quartier Dix30 and Quebec City (on your next visit)!
