Digestifs:
Owned by the same group behind neighbour Restaurant Grinder, Makro is bringing Griffintown a much needed spot to get your seafood fix. Seafood menu items include oysters, a beautiful seafood platter, grilled octopus, spicy tuna on crispy rice, several fresh fish options, as well as a fish of the day. We opted for the spicy tuna crispy rice and the sea bass for two served with two sides – addictive brussels sprouts and a simple mushroom and squash dish. The food was on point and beautifully presented and the restaurant décor is understated and elegant (in stark contrast to the futuristic multi-level design of previous tenant, Shinji). As Grinder’s neighbour and sister restaurant, you should already be aware that this will be a Montreal scene, but for a change, this scene comes with great food! Reservations are difficult to snag on weekends, so plan ahead.
