Will Travel for Brunch
1840 Rue Beaubien E, Montréal, QC H2G 1L6
It was a rainy Sunday, and there was a line-up outside. How unpleasant….or so I thought. A friendly waitress came outside to take my name down and asked if I would like an umbrella. YES PLEASE!! Next walked out another smiling face with a tray of bright mugs filled with tea to warm us up. These small touches coupled with outdoor heaters made the wait almost…pleasant!
But the real treat is when you finally get in. Ornately decorated with vintage pieces, mismatched picture frames, and velvet chairs, the space feels warm and inviting.
We ordered one of the days specials: a thick-cut toast with ricotta, roasted tomatoes, chorizo, scrambled eggs, and watercress served with a side of fruit and potatoes. We also order the “Un Peu de Tout” – a 3-tiered plate filled from top to bottom with some of their famous brunch items. A sticky cinnamon bun, crunchy peanut butter, toast with pear butter, baguette with nutella, scones with lemon curd, and my personal favourite- crème brûlée-style yogurt (layers of caramel and yogurt with a crunchy brûléed top). Dishes are relatively pricey (some plates are $20), but they are HUGE and well-worth the premium.

Service was excellent. Our waiter was very friendly and warm and, though there was a line-up outside, we did not feel rushed at all.
Stop by Régine Café – rain or shine! A brunch spot that is well-worth the travel time AND the wait.
