A Touch of Purple, A Lot of Style

1059 Rue Wellington, Montréal, QC H3C 2G6

Restaurant Doca had their grand opening last week. The dress code called for “A Touch of Purple” in order to match the décor of the new and stunning space located on Wellington in Griffintown. The team behind the event rolled out the purple carpet for a perfect night of drinking, eating, and socializing with some of Montreal’s finest.
The party was extravagant and got me and everyone else in attendance excited to visit the restaurant again (if we hadn’t already). Champagne was flowing freely and we were surrounded by a sea of purple, beautiful Montrealers, hors d’oeuvres, and a raw seafood bar. It was evident that a new star had arrived on the Montreal restaurant scene.

Restaurant Doca serves Mediterranean cuisine in a uniquely decorated setting. The décor is post-industrial, without the coldness you might expect. Velvet and purple accents create a warm space that compliments the sophisticated menu. If the food being passed around throughout the night is any indication, we could expect great things from the chefs at Doca. The raw bar was simply spectacular- stocked with scallops, oysters, huge shrimp, crab claws, and seafood salad, now THAT’S how an opening is done.

By the end of the night I felt: glamorous, the euphoric effects of the champagne, and satisfied knowing that a real gem will be adding a touch of purple and a lot of style to one of my favourite neighbourhoods.
